Insurance companies must have access to Fællesregistret in order to verify whether a person has outstanding daily fees owed to DFIM. This is necessary to ensure compliance with the prohibition against issuing motor third-party liability insurance to individuals who owe daily fees for failing to maintain the required insurance, cf. Section 106(6) of the Danish Road Traffic Act.
Access to the register is granted upon becoming a member of DFIM and is only available to insurance companies with a Class 10 approval.
