Allocation of an additional DMR code

DFIM members (the risk-bearing companies) are generally allocated one DMR code. However, some members require an additional code for companies that sell or distribute insurance on behalf of the member.

The DFIM member determines the name of the agent code. However, the name must always end with: “… for [name of the risk-bearing company]”.

Example: DFIM insurance intermediary for Insurance Company A/S. This ensures that it is always clear which company the agent code belongs to.

The DFIM member is the formal owner of the agent code. Therefore, all communication regarding agent codes takes place directly between DFIM and the member.

The DFIM member requesting the creation of an agent code must send the following information by email to: dfim@dfim.dk:

Information about the DFIM member

• Name of the risk-bearing company

• CVR number

• Current DMR code

Information about the new agent code

• Desired name: [xxx] for [name of the risk-bearing company]

Information about the agent

• CVR number

• Address

• Email

• Phone number

• Name, email and phone number of the agent’s contact person

Claims handling information (if applicable)

• Name and contact details of the claims handler

Technical information

• Should the code be B2B or manual?

• Contact details of the IT responsible person

Claims representation abroad

If a person is injured abroad, the claim must be possible to report in the person’s own language. DFIM must therefore receive information about the agent’s claims representatives in EU/EEA countries in accordance with the Motor Insurance Directive (Fourth Directive).

the process

1. DFIM sends a template with the required information to the member.

2. The company completes the list and returns it to DFIM.

3. The company must also submit documentation from each claims representative as confirmation of the agreement.

   • A separate file must be submitted for each country.

   • The wording is optional, but for example:

     “We would like to inform you that we accept the nomination from [xx] for [yy]. We confirm that the effective date for claims being handled by us is [date].”

DFIM can only create the agent code once all confirmations have been received.

The list of claims representatives must include::

1. Company name

2. CVR number or national registration number

3. Address

4. Email

5. Phone number

Once the above information has been received, DFIM will request The Danish Motor Vehicle Agency to create the code.
