The Register of Uninsured Vehicles (Fællesregisteret)

Here you can learn what the register is, why you may be registered, and what it means for your ability to take out third-party liability insurance for a vehicle.

What is the register?

The Register of Uninsured Vehicles (Fællesregisteret) is administered by DFIM with approval from the Danish Data Protection Agency. You are registered in the register if:

  • your third-party liability insurance has been cancelled due to non-payment (premium arrears registration), or

  • your vehicle has been uninsured and you have therefore been charged daily fees (daily fee registration)

The registration is carried out in accordance with section 106 of the Danish Road Traffic Act.

What does this mean for you?

When you are registered in the Register of Uninsured Vehicles:

  • your details are shared with other insurance companies

  • you cannot take out third-party liability insurance for a motor vehicle as long as you are registered with outstanding daily fees

A registration due to premium arrears is deleted two years after your insurance company has cancelled your policy due to non-payment.

A registration due to daily fees is deleted once all outstanding daily fees have been paid to DFIM.
